Rural Midwifery is an especially exciting journey!
Challenges and joys are quite different to those in the city and not for the faint of heart
This course looks at the practice reality of working in the rural and remote areas, as well as taking a look at who we work alongside - our rural colleagues!
We will also hear from some established rural midwives who will give thoughts and advice on what it is to be a midwife in rural Australia or New Zealand.
Welcome to Simply Midwifery and Healthcare Professional Education and Development.
These online professional education and development courses are designed with you in mind.
As a nurse then midwife of 29 years (2020) I know what it is like to keep up and keep progressing year after year. We want to learn the latest information, revisit that which we know, but sometimes life takes over and where do we find the time?
That is why these online courses have been designed to bridge the gap between the wanting to do and the doing.
Relevant, relatable, timely and full of thought provoking practice issues, my hope is that "continuing education" and meeting your professional development needs is enjoyable and inspiring.
We keep up to date with what is new or challenging in our professional and practice lives, and aim to provide up to the minute courses that meets varying individual needs.
Got an idea for a course? Something you think we can do with knowing more about? Let us know!
I have practised as a nurse, as a midwife, and spent quite a few years as a clinical educator in undergrad and postgrad education and development here in NZ. Apparently I am pretty good at educating - thanks! :)
I discovered recently that I "lead with blue and yellow" ... meaning I love data, information, getting deep into it, making sense of it, and sharing it (blue), and that I also love to engage with people ALOT! (yellow). And that I also have green when it matters - so I also care - which is good to know ;)
