Informing and Consenting
Informed Consent is the mainstain of the woman centred partnership.
How do we know, and how do we show, that we have had those conversations, and that women have made decisions from an informed place?
Do women even have to be informed - if they choose not too?
Can women choose not to be informed?
How does this affect midwives?
How does Informed Consent work "in the heat of the moment"?
How OK is some of the consent that is given - is it truly informed?
And what can we do about it?
This course will investigate the tenants of Informed Consent and the reality of practice.
Hopefully the above description was informative enough for you to decide to join!
Hi and Welcome to Simply Midwifery Education!
I have designed these online progressive education courses with you in mind.
As a midwife of 20+ years I know what it is like to keep up and keep progressing year after year. We want to learn the latest information, revisit that which we know, but sometimes life takes over and where do we find the time?
I have produced these online courses to help bridge the gap between the wanting to, and the doing. Easy and quick but full of thought provoking practice issues, my hope is that "continuing education" and meeting your recertification needs is enjoyable and inspiring.
I will keep abreast (pun intended - ah the joy of midwifery humour!) of what's new or challenging in our professional and practice lives, and aim to provide up to the minute courses that meets everyone's individual needs.
Got an idea for a course? Something you think we can do with knowing more about? Let me know!
